Q: Why can’t I access my request electronically?

A: Not all requests are available for electronic download because it is up to the medical facility or hospital to determine the policy in which method requesters shall receive documentation.

 

Q: For how long will my user name and password be valid?

A: 90 days

 

Q: Can any one access my medical information on your site?

  1. No. MMRA takes patient confidentiality very seriously and we ensure every step necessary is taken to keep patients’ health information protected and safe by using advanced technology and best practices.  

 

Q: Why do I have to pay for a copy of my medical records?

A: You are charged fees based on state regulation, cost of materials, and staff time spent preparing your records. Each request can involve as many as 32 primary and 47 secondary steps, and the information needed can reside in many different formats such as paper, microfilm/fiche, and/or electronic.

 

Q: When can I expect to receive my medical records?

A.HIPAA gives providers 30 days to fulfill a medical record request; however, MMRA adheres to the turnaround times dictated by our hospital clients, which tend to be much less (i.e., two weeks or less).

 

Q:  What program do I need to use to view my medical records?

A:  The medical records are provided as PDF documents.  You will need a PDF viewer program to view your records.  The original PDF viewer is Adobe Acrobat Reader and is available for free

     from the Adobe web site.
